A $103-million makeover added street lamps and landscaping and doubled the width to 28 feet, providing plenty of room for walking, running, in-line skating, and bicycling along the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. I Love, Love, Love This Boardwalk! While the Boardwalk is similar to others around the country, it compliments the small-town feel of Virginia Beach. It's not too over the top, but offers enough fun and flare to provide a perfect accent to the gorgeous sands of the Atlantic Ocean.
