The Buzz -- Perhaps Virginia Beach's favorite annual event, the Neptune Festival features an array of sports and cultural events throughout the month of September, culminating in the big boardwalk weekend blowout. Sporting events include a triathlon, midnight bicycle ride, an 8K run, and a 5K walk, plus surfing, volleyball, and cheerleading competitions. The arts are represented by a sand sculpting competition, an art and craft show, several concerts, grand balls and dances, a seafood fair, a parade, and fireworks. |
