6. Mahi Mah's

After reading the reviews I wanted to take my wife somewhere nice for her first visit to a beach in the US. I started by trying to make reservations for a week without success. We went to the front door of the restaurant and called, was told 45 minute wait. We then immediately went inside, was told 1 1/2 hour wait. When we finally got seated it took 20 minutes for the waiter to come. He was not very knowledgeable about the specials and recommendations. We both chose blackened tuna. It took more than 45 minutes for our diner to arrive and we had to suffer through listening to a horrible band outside while waiting. When our dinner finally arrived the waiter simply slammed it on the table and walked away without any words. This is why he got no tip. The tuna was very cold, not cooked as ordered and horrible to say the least. I question the culinary skills, if any, that this restaurant has. We will never again go here and I would not recommend this to anyone.

Mahi Mah's is a wonderful seafood restaurant -- I have been there several times in the past few years, and it has consistently had great food. Their crab cakes are excellent, and they do a very good job making grilled fish delicious! Casual yet could be considered fairly elegant for a seafood restaurant. Definitely recommended to visitors at Virginia Beach!

The food was excellent and the crowd was fun. There was a very hot dynamic band named "Cornerstone" playing on the gazebo while I was there. They played lots of fun party and dance music. One of the best bands I've heard in a long time. I will definitely come back to Mahi Mah's soon.
