With a cozy, home-like feel that just can't be found at other seafood restaurants in Virginia Beach, Rudee's on the Inlet is quite a popular spot. A location in an outdoor cabana at the waterfront makes Rudee's one of the most interesting and fun places to enjoy seafood in Virginia Beach. This waterfront restaurant offers some of the freshest fish available, and fishermen regularly pull right up to the dock to deliver what may be your next meal.   (© 10Best)

overrated
my husband and I took our adult children out to Rudee's to remember old Va Beach memories...we were very disappointed. the restaurant was a "headboat" packed in with tourists. my daughter may need back surgery with the chair behind her hitting her chair. The oysters were excellent after you got past the river mud that could have easily been washed off. The ultimate crab dinner was just crab, no seasoning. my daughter's crab legs came out cold. 2 out of the 7 entrees ordered were okay. we were very disappointed. we ate at Chick's Oyster bar the night before, and it was outstanding compared to Rudees. and was actually a better value, with fun beach atmosphere. fyi, they automatically added a 20% gratuity for six adults. I got fish camp service but got charged fine dining fees. so wrong.

I have been driving my 1986 Trans-Am from Halifax, Ma. to Va. Beach for a number of years. It is the only road trip I do. I like Va. Beach, but the main reason is to hang out at Rudees. First of all Carter, the owner, has a crew that makes you feel like you're an old friend even if it's your first time there. The seafood is the best you will find anywhere. The steaks and chops are the best. The Rudee Burger alone is worth the trip, and the oysters are the freshest you will find anywhere. In short, if you're anywhere near Va. a drive to RUDEES is worth the trip.

Every time we go to Va. Beach, Rudees is a must stop. While it isn't long on decor, it is a great value for bayside dining. They have something for everyone from adults to kids. Been there with adults, been there with kids. Thoroughly enjoyed it every time.
