WACO. Named for a former head of Baylor's English department, this facility is dedicated to the works of poets Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. It also collects memorabilia and artifacts related to their lives and to the Victorian era during which they lived. The museum, established in 1951, holds an enormous array of secular stained-glass items, and its decor has a pronounced Venetian slant. In fact, ornate marble, walnut and gilt details provide a perfect backdrop for the Armstrong Browning's holdings and the time period evoked.
