The Buzz -- Since 1967, this well-attended festival has showcased contemporary cultures, hosting exhibitions of the work and play traditions of many regions and locales. Events have focused on Appalachia, the Silk Road region, Native Americans and even urban dwellers. Dance, games, storytelling, music, cooking, artwork and crafts take the forefront, and attendees are more than welcome to participate in the experience. The exchange of ideas and an appreciation of cultural differences are promoted, and the entire event is a celebration of everyday life. Special evening events take place so check the website for more details. METRO: Smithsonian or Metro Center |
