CAPITOL HILL. Built in 1906, this Inn is located in the historic Capitol Hill district. The renovated English basement apartment features five fully furnished rooms, each with a living/dining area and modern bath. Guests have access to a kitchen stocked with all of the makings for a filling breakfast. Sitting rooms include a twin bed, and the master bedrooms have plush queen-size beds. Your hosts offer personalized service, and will help you plan trips to nearby attractions like the Smithsonian Museums. Nightly rates are based on the number of people in your party: 1-2 people $150, 3 people $175, 4 people $200.Three-night minimum stay required.

ADAMS-MORGAN. Built in the early 1900s, this comfortable B&B has comfy guest rooms tucked inside a charming, three-story brick townhouse. Each room is decorated in traditional, comfortable style, with fine Oriental rugs and period furnishings. Thanks to the central location, a five minute walk takes you to a wide selection of restaurants and attractions, including the National Zoo and National Cathedral. Just two miles from Union Station. Complimentary breakfasts include a spread of doughnuts, muffins, fruits, juices, coffee and more – enjoy them in the main salon or on the patio. 26 rooms, 15 of them have a private bath.

DUPONT CIRCLE. Nestled among the trees in a shady area, this tranquil B&B may make you forget you are in the capital city! Swann House is close to top attractions, including the White House and the Capitol, but the lovely facility seems worlds away. With 12 rooms and 4 spacious suites, all rooms feature private baths, phones with voice mail and dataport, and cable TV with VCR. Enjoy the complimentary breakfast as well as afternoon refreshments and evening cordials. Some rooms include fireplace and/or Jacuzzi tub. Limited parking, about $14/day.

While the traditional Federal-style architecture remains unchanged, the conveniences of today are evident in the accommodations; each includes a modern, spacious bath, color cable television, clock radio and private, direct-dial phone. Enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast, and then end your day with a complimentary evening sherry. Ten blocks from the White House and two blocks from Union Station. No on-site parking.
