CLARENDON.   Iota Club & Café sponsors local musicians, both those just getting started and those who have already established names for themselves as singers and songwriters. Open mic nights give everyone a chance to be a star, and literary fans often attend the Sunday poetry series, where everyone is encouraged to read. The menu features hot entrees (including vegetarian dishes), along with soups, salads, and great appetizers. METRO: Clarendon   (© 10Best)

Iota is slipping. I used to enjoy the venue, however, tonight at a Last Train Home show, I encountered hostile people at the bar complaining about me blocking their view as I was getting drinks, an all out fight on the floor, and some punk who took my freshly poured Maker's Mark at 2:00Am. They're glad to sell you a drink at 1:59, but you better get a shot, because they will literally take it out of your had at 2:01. I'm done with the place. It's an overrated bar, and with the rudeness of the staff, and lack of security, I will never go back.
