9. Twins Jazz

U STREET.   Multicolored tiles and artwork accent this intimate restaurant, where guests enjoy live jazz from grassroots musicians. Although they're really there for the show, diners don't pass up the Ethiopian fare, which includes fried plantains, curry chicken, whole red snapper prepared in a Creole sauce, or a vegetarian platter, along with a beer or glass of house wine.   (© 10Best)

Among our favorite D.C. nightlife spots is Twins Jazz, where musicians play with their backs to the windows at the front of the building, while a small bar sits at the back. A long narrow room, jammed with tables and chairs, connects the two. (from Southern Living)
