About Washington Restaurants
Political hub of the nation, DC attracts millions of international visitors each year, from high-brow politicos to families on holiday. This sort of traffic fuels a thriving restaurant scene, one with both multicultural flair and flavor. Throughout the city, restaurants offer outstanding service and excellent cuisine. Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, and Downtown share the bulk of the capital's dining establishments. Among them are Red Sea, which serves Ethiopian cuisine, and informal Ben's Chili Bowl, both in Adams Morgan. Dupont Circle's Obelisk promises upscale Italian fare, while in Georgetown, Citronelle wins rave reviews for fashionable French cuisine. Downtown, at Luigi's Pizza, sightseers and lunching politicians both dine on hand-tossed pies. Foggy Bottom, Woodley Park, and Capitol Hill have their share of first-class eateries as well. Kinkeads specializes in seafood, Woodley Park's Lebanese Taverna tempts folks with rustic flavor, and Capitol Hill's Montmartre guarantees great French food at reasonable rates. No matter in which direction you head, DC's wealth of restaurants is sure to please. -- Kelly Sigmon, Senior Editor
