DOWNTOWN.   Simple lines and rich materials characterize this contemporary Asian restaurant. Peppered with antiques from Thailand and China, the hot spot surrounds guests with teak, bronze and silk, an impressive backdrop to be sure. Among the main courses are tamarind-glazed Chilean seabass with buckwheat soba noodles, and pistachio-topped salmon with tomato-sesame-soy vinaigrette. Wines hailing from France, New Zealand, Australia and the US ensure precise pairings no matter what dish you select, and the bar also features an impressive number of Asian beers by the bottle and on tap. Named for its location at the corner of 10th and Pennsylvania Avenues, TenPenh serves contemporary Southeast Asian cuisine. Favorite dishes include grilled Thai beef salad, red Thai curry shrimp, and wasabi mashed potatoes. The tasty Hong Kong-style whole catfish comes fried in rice flour and served with a garlic dipping sauce. Yum's the word. (from Southern Living)

Superb food. This is the best Asian restaurant in the city, and it holds up very well with the best that NYC or Boston have to offer.
