DUPONT CIRCLE.   Inspired by New Orleans' down-home, spicy cooking, this restaurant features fantastic seafood dishes innovatively fashioned by chef Ann Cashion. Pristine shellfish from nearby waters are specialties, as evidenced by Chesapeake seafood stew, brimming with seafood, spices, and savory broth. Fresh crab is also tops, served simply and unadorned with a side dish of corn pudding. Great for lunch as well as dinner, the menu features everything from sophisticated salmon dishes to gourmet hot dogs and oyster po'boys. The charming dining room provides a fitting backdrop for flavorful all-American cuisine.   (© 10Best)

We ate here the first night we stayed in DC. Both our hotel and the guies we researched on the internet recommended Johnny's. I have no idea why and I would love to know what the restaurant paid to get all these people to recommend such a half-baked place. I have to admit the crabcake was very good...but the price was $16 for one small cake...way overpriced for what was served. I also had the catfish that was about 5 ounces on a bed of andouille risotto. The cost of this dish was $27. Not worth the price we had to pay. It almost seems as though the establishment relies on unsuspecting tourists that will never have the chance to voice their vote by not coming back. A tourist trap to say the least!! Don't even both wasting your time!

The food and wine is overpriced and read rave reviews on this restaurant, was looking forward to a great meal out. Not the case. Had the mussels that were not properly cleaned, some had the beard still on and sand in them. Friend had the calamari, way to much liquid smoke added! That is all we tasted was the liquid smoke. Friend had the fish that was overcooked. I had the scallops that were ok. We both felt the food was overpriced. We will not go here again.
