CLARENDON.   This restaurant-lounge is known for steaks and seafood, including beef tenderloin, grilled pork loin, and signature mussels. Sandwiches and salads are also available. The upscale place is distinguished by two levels, a fireplace, well-spaced tables, high ceilings, stained glass, and tile mosaics. I have had Thinksgiving dinner there for the past 2 years and plan to do so again this year. The food is quite good. Cozy atmosphere but slow service. I have also have several nice brunches there. Overall this is an above avarge restaurant and quite upscale for Clarenden area.

Possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. Horrible food, even worse service. Don't waste your time or money.

My wife and I went in at 5:00 on this Monday evening (August 15, 2005). We saw the cook go out the door to get a "take out dinner" for himself and had to wait over 45 minutes while he came back to the restaurant with his take out and ate his dinner before he even started to prepare our dinner. I ordered the mussels and they were so overcooked and shrunk from sitting under the heat lamp that they were uneatable. I sent them back and ordered a steak salad which took another 45 minutes to get to the table (the cook was apparently upset we sent back the shrunk mussles). I sent back the steak salad because the meat was ice cold and undercooked and the salad was wilted because it was sitting under the hot light for so long. The waiter still charged me for the steak salad which I sent back to the kitchen. This is not right.
