About 10Best's Washington Restaurants Selections:
Political hub of the nation, DC attracts millions of international visitors each year, from high-brow politicos to families on holiday. This sort of traffic fuels a thriving restaurant scene, one with both multicultural flair and flavor. Throughout the city, restaurants offer outstanding service and excellent cuisine. Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, and Downtown share the bulk of the capital's dining establishments. Among them are Red Sea, which serves Ethiopian cuisine, and informal Ben's Chili Bowl, both in Adams Morgan. Dupont Circle's Obelisk promises upscale Italian fare, while in Georgetown, Citronelle wins rave reviews for fashionable French cuisine. Downtown, at Luigi's Pizza, sightseers and lunching politicians both dine on hand-tossed pies. Foggy Bottom, Woodley Park, and Capitol Hill have their share of first-class eateries as well. Kinkead’s specializes in seafood, Woodley Park's Lebanese Taverna tempts folks with rustic flavor, and Capitol Hill's Montmartre guarantees great French food at reasonable rates. No matter in which direction you head, DC's wealth of restaurants is sure to please.

100 King, in a historic building on the corner of King and Union, brings a great new cuisine to Old Town. Acclaimed chef Denis Soriano unveiled his new American menu January 7th to rave reviews. They offer wonderful ambience, a creative wine list, and a great bar scene with their talented jazz band Thursday through Saturday nights. Starting March 4th they offer a Sunday Jazz brunch with live music from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Don't miss the crab rigatoni appetizer and try one of the many delectable entrees ranging from a homemade lamb pot pie, perfectly cooked steak, meaty scallops, a tender swordfish atop lentils.

Everything is baked homestyle and not mass produced. There are fresh salads made daily, my favorite is the southwest salad with grilled chicken. Also the hummus wraps are great. Thursday mornings the owner makes her grandmas cinnamon rolls. I feel like I walked into my grandma’s kitchen.

This restuarant has been in business since 1946 and has just been taken over and remodeled by the second generation. It spent its first 55 years as a steak house and now they have a great french chef. So they have great beef (American food) with an interesting European touch.

Everytime I go to Cucina Vivace I come away absolutely awed by the food. It's just fantastic. The lamb, in particular, is my favorite, and is a signature dish there. Recently the chef has introduced smaller prix-fixe chef's menus, which are very interesting and tasty. I tried the venison last week with the suggested wine pairing and was just amazed.

This is absolutely one of the best restaurants in the DC area. I stumbled upon this gem located in a shopping center near Dulles airport. But you'd never know it is in a shopping center after you walk in. The ambience is out of New York City's SoHo, and the food is incredibly fresh and prepared with perfection! Worth the trip if you're in the city!!

Gotta tell ya, if you're really looking for quality seafood, and a superb environment outside the city, this place is a must. Extremely fresh & tasty! They've won a ton of awards and are very popular, so make sure you plan ahead and make a reservation or the wait can be long- but it's worth it!

You feel as though you are dining in your own home at this restaurant. The owner and chef Rima greets every customer as if she has known them for years. The food is the most amazing Arabic food I have ever tasted. This is the real deal!

Affordable, but with upscale food, this small restaurant has the same mysterious Left Bank air of its Parisian conterpart and offers good solid French fare. Buckweat crepes are amazing. With lively French music in the background, it's a charming little escape.
