EDITOR REVIEW: CAPITOL HILL. Since 1873, this market has provided DC residents with produce, meat, bread and other necessary goods. A neighborhood institution, the covered brick structure is only seven blocks from the Capitol, so it's an easy diversion while you're sightseeing. On weekends, vendors pitch everything from crafts to Christmas ornaments to clothes and antiques. The place is not only a tribute to DC's heritage, but a great stop-off for a quick bite or a souvenir. METRO: Eastern Market This Capitol Hill neighborhood market, in business since 1873, sells meat, fish, and produce. On weekends, the market expands outdoors with a flea market, crafts, and flowers. Line up with the locals on Saturdays for Blue Buck pancakes. (from Southern Living) Location Map 225 7th St SE, Washington, DC 20009 Larger Interactive Map » Show Nearby Businesses » |
