ALEXANDRIA. This plantation was given by George Washington and his wife to their adopted granddaughter, Eleanor Parke Custis, for her wedding. Today, visitors enjoy walks through the well-kept gardens, as well as lovely views, including glimpses of Mount Vernon in the distance.
