ADAMS-MORGAN.
This is the best place to find a delicious breakfast served all day. From simple to elaborate dishes, the intimate restaurant is sure to please. Have eggs Benedict the old-fashioned way, or try them New Orleans-style, complete with fried oysters and crabmeat. The stylish ambiance is accentuated by jazz music and refined service. Don't leave without trying a beignet, a fried pastry dusted with powdered sugar. Lunch and dinner are also served with full menus and daily specials. METRO: Woodley Park/Zoo

Bardia's New Orleans Cafe is one of the best representations of authentic New Orleans cuisine in the Washington, D.C. area. Being a native of New Orleans, I am always looking for the best and most authentic Cajun-Creole cuisine. It doesn't matter which dish you try, you will get a taste of New Orleans. Don't forget to get a taste of heaven and try the New Orleans original "Beignets". Bardia's beignets are actually better than the beignets served at Cafe Du Monde of New Orleans. In addition, the quaint, cozy environment is very nice. It is also great that customers can hear a little jazz music playing in the background while they have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I rate this restaurant a perfect 5.

I am a chef myself although the style of cooking is not my type of cooking. I am a Mediterranean style chef, I find the restaurant exceptional. I am from a culture where courtesy is very important and the owner and the staff that I encountered were extremely courteous and always kept my coffee hot and water filled even if I didn't want the water. They always make me feel welcome. They have very pleasant music in the background where you can have a pleasant conversation and hear the person across the table from you without screaming. It is very relaxing. The owner always makes you feel welcome and you can't help but want to come back. The prices are quite fair and I know since I am in the food business myself.

Want to enjoy authentic New Orleans cuisine in Washington, DC???? Then go to Bardia's New Orleans Cafe. Just imagine yourself sitting back and watching the heart of Adams Morgan come alive while listening to Ella Fitzergerald crooning in the background. If you are there for breakfast/brunch, start the morning with their chickory coffee-so flavorful, robust, and smooth. Enjoy the coffee with Bardia's infamous piping hot beignet's covered with powder sugar. Once you start, you can't stop!!!!! I prefer to eat the beignets as a dessert but starting them off in the morning isn't so bad either. If you are having lunch/dinner, try one of my many favorites:
chicken and shrimp jambalaya
chicken plantation
shrimp po' boy
crawfish etouffe
Lastly, don't miss out on the pecan pie.
This cafe has it all-great food, great music, great atmosphere, and a great staff. What more could you ask for?????
