About 10Best's Washington Attractions & Activities Selections:

Known for its vast array of monuments, memorials, and museums, the nation’s capital provides a virtually limitless supply of leisure activities. The Mall features the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the prestigious presidential monuments, along with many of the world-famous Smithsonian Institution’s museums, including the National Air and Space Museum. The city’s gardens and parks offer perfect getaway spots from the hustle and bustle of politics and city life. Dumbarton Oaks and the National Arboretum feature acres of natural beauty, while expansive Potomac Park and Rock Creek Park grant stretches of green space amid the marble, glass, and steel of Washington’s notable buildings. Tours abound, and most feature the White House, the Supreme Court, and the Capitol Building. In Georgetown, just northwest of downtown, you’ll find plenty of upscale eateries and shops, not to mention the regal Washington National Cathedral. The National Zoo and Aquarium are must-visits as well – plus, they’re free. Theater and the arts are widely promoted in the District by such places as the impressive Kennedy Center and the more intimate Folger Theatre.

FREE TOUR OF THE MONUMENTS! The guides work exclusively for tips, ensuring the highest quality tour. These tours are fantastic! They tell hilarious stories and obscure anecdotes, all the while teaching you America's rich history. It's fun for any age, and I would reccommend it to anyone coming to DC. The tours are at 2 and 6 everyday. Meet at the East corner of 15th St. and Constitution Ave., NW and look for a guide in a baby blue t-shirt. On Sundays at 6 pm, they give tours that benefit a charity. July 13, 20, and 27th the tours benefit a great organization called NFTE which provides entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities. 100% of the tips will go straight to the organization.
