West Middlesex makes its home in the southwest corner of Mercer County, located in northwestern Pennsylvania. West Middlesex is convenient to both Erie and Pittsburgh via Interstates 79 and 80 that run through the county. A small community and a valued member of Mercer County, West Middlesex offers visitors a chance to enjoy nature's beauty as well as some unbeatable shopping. Vast amounts of wooded acreage surround this rural town, including state parks and lovely lakes. Pymatuning Deer Park is located in Johnstown and Buhl Farm Park is located in Hermitage, both are north of West Middlesex. Nearby Conneaut Lake and Pymatuning Reservoir offer a range of outdoor activities including swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing. The Prime Outlets-Grove City welcomes shoppers with open arms. The Outlets has over 140 name brand outlet stores. Nearby Sharon, PA, features Reyers, a shoe store which claims to be the world's largest. The store houses over 150,000 pairs of shoes and is located in a converted 36,000-square foot grocery store. Winner, reportedly the world's largest off-price women's clothing store, is also located in Sharon. Visitors are sure to get some great deals at these mega stores, but none as sweet as those that can be found at two local candy wonderlands. Daffin's Candies, a supersize store located in Sharon, features the "Chocolate Kingdom," a museum of sorts that showcases chocolate sculptures, including a 700-pound chocolate rabbit! Nearby Philadelphia Candies, located on the strip in Hermitage, entices visitors to its giant confectionery with over 150 delectable chocolates and group tours of the factory. West Middlesex and the surrounding area also have a host of other shops that offer antiques, crafts, and hand-made goods.
