Avello has a number of selling points including Vichy showers, fabulous imported whirlpool tubs, and a pedicure lounge with sweeping mountain views and ridiculously comfy Italian-made recliner chairs. The spa offers more than 75 treatments and services, from Thai, Chinese and Satago massage to thalassotherapy body wraps.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Blue Highways specializes in massage. Depending on the time of year, they keep six to sixteen therapists on staff, so getting an appointment on short notice is usually no problem. In addition to relaxation massage and shiatsu treatments, they offer aromatherapy and reflexology. Appointments in the comfort of your own hotel room are also available.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Nibbana is the Burmese Buddhist word for nirvana, an appropriate name for a place that makes you feel this good! The spa takes a holistic approach, so in addition to the usual massages, facials and body wraps you can arrange tarot readings, reiki and channeling sessions, yoga and Pilates classes, and meditation. The space was carefully designed according to feng shui principles and is wonderfully relaxing.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Solarice is one of the most popular spas in town, offering an amazingly varied and wide array of services and treatments for men, women and even young children. If you can afford just one indulgence, opt for their "organic paprika aha facial" – it is absolutely fantastic! Other options abound, however: acupuncture, moor mud wraps, several varieties of massage, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, yoga and Pilates, nutritional and wellness consultations. Full and half day spa packages are available.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. This hotel spa focuses on natural products, many from BC. Invigorate, refresh or relax with seaweed, wildflower and fruit-based lotions gels and bath salts, or detox with a moor mud wrap (with clay from glacial lakes). In addition to a full menu of treatments and services, there's a wonderful hydrotherapy room.

Try the Lulur Body Exfoliation, an involved process of cleansing and smoothing that will leave your skin glowing. Available massages include Thai massage that uses slow, rhythmic pressure and yoga stretches to work out tension, La stone therapy where heated stones are used to knead the body, shiatsu, reflexology and Lomi Lomi, a traditional Hawaiian massage technique. Different baths are available for those who would rather soak away their cares. You can choose from a mud bath, enzyme bath, mineral bath or mustard bath. A full complement of facials, manicures, pedicures and waxing are also available. Indulge yourself after a tough day on the slopes!

WHISTLER VILLAGE. What started back in 2002 as Blackcomb En-suite Spa Treatments (B.E.S.T.) is today a thriving spa with three locations in Whistler. Their menu of services is impressive. Choose Swedish, Shiatsu, Thai, Satheo or lava stone massage, or mineral salt exfoliation to leave your skin soft and radiant. Clean up your hands and feet with a careful manicure or pedicure, or redefine your brows or bikini line with professional waxing. And yes, they do still offer in-hotel services.
