WHISTLER VILLAGE. Contemporary décor can seem cold or sterile, but this is not the case at après, where golden wood floors, vibrant red accents and wonderful geometric-abstract art give the space a comfortable warmth. The chef, Eric Vernice, showcases regional foods in modern European preparations as fine as you'd encounter in a big city restaurant. Standouts include pan-roasted caribou loin with roasted chestnuts and sauce poivrade, and a "Trilogy of Veal" (pan-roasted tenderloin, grilled liver with onion jam, and pan-seared sweetbread with almond emulsion) that earns raves. Desserts are splurge-worthy: hazelnut daquoise with light pear mousse, caramelized Bosc pears and apple chutney is sublime! About 40 wines by the glass or flight (mostly from the Pacific Northwest).

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Bavaria specializes in – surprise! – hearty German and Austrian cuisine. Take your pick from a menu full of comfortable things like schnitzel and spaetzle, sauerbraten and pepper steak. Fondues are probably the biggest draw, however. In fact, you can get an entire three-course meal of nothing but fondues: traditional Swiss cheese, Asian style broth or oil, and chocolate, all with appropriate dippers. To accompany your meal, there's a nice selection of German and French wines, German beers and schnapps. Service can be hit-or-miss, but the food is quite good.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Caramba! is a real crowd pleaser. The Mediterranean-inspired menu includes grilled calamari, wood-fired pizzas, and an extensive selection of pasta dishes – something to satisfy everyone in your group. Local favorites include the platter of three cheese macaroni, and the rainbow trout served over bacon and onion mashed potatoes. The upbeat atmosphere and the delicious smells wafting from the open kitchen let you know immediately that you are in for a memorable dining experience. Smart-casual attire. Reservations accepted.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Crêpe Montagne's alpine vibe is almost as appealing as its food! Since opening in 1997, the restaurant has managed to win plenty of fans, who adore starting (or ending) their days here. And really, what's not to like about these thin, delicate little pancakes, rolled up with all sorts of tasty tidbits? Not everything on the menu is crêpe-based, though – you can choose from fondue, raclette, and traditional meat-and-potatoes type dishes as well. Desserts, of course, are sublime. There's just something winning about a chocolate- and strawberry- stuffed crêpe, or a flaming crêpe swimming in Grand Marnier sauce.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Grazers are in for a treat here! Not only is Elements stylish and trendy, with a cascading water wall, warm golden woods and copper accents, it also has a fantastic array of internationally-inspired tapas. Order a hip cocktail and then choose from inventive options like grilled chorizo with honey-onion relish, panko-crusted goat cheese with orange infused honey, green curry mussels, handheld Caesar salad bites, mini pulled pork brioche, and lettuce cups stuffed with hoisin pork, prawns, spicy tofu, tuna sashimi or duck confit. Groups will enjoy sharing platters of assorted cheeses, charcuterie or vegetables. Surprisingly, Elements is also fabulous for breakfast, when they serve everything from yogurt-granola Parfaits and baked egg frittatas to stuffed French toast and six different varieties of eggs Benedict.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Kypriaki Norte has an invitingly uncomplicated décor with lots of greenery, tiled floors and a sunny color scheme (but during the warmer months, the beautiful flower-lined terrace offers the most coveted seats in the house). Mediterranean / Greek food is fun for couples and groups because you can so easily make a complete meal out of nothing but appetizers. Order up some homous, taramasalata, sganaki, beef and rice stuffed dolmades, spanakopita and calamari with tzatziki and a table full of hungry souls. If you must order a main course, cedar planked salmon, the house specialty roast lamb and souvlaki are highly recommended.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Victorian decor detailed with oak woodwork, stained glass, and an abundance of memorabilia sets the scene at this casual restaurant. The menu consists of reliable favorites but nothing too exotic. Spaghetti with a variety of sauces is available, along with lasagna both vegetarian and with beef. There's also linguine with seafood, Chilean langostino penne, and chorizo cannelloni. Meat lovers will appreciate the Hunters Chicken, topped with mushrooms and Hollandaise, the Veal a la Parmigiana, and the New York steak. All entrees come with bread, soup or salad, ice cream, and coffee too, so make sure your appetite's substantial.
