WHISTLER VILLAGE. The first thing you'll notice about La Bocca's décor is the walls, the most unique and creatively painted walls in town. Accented with vibrant red and yellow booths, the overall effect is absolutely charming and funky. The menu is similarly eclectic, drawing inspiration from the fresh produce of the region and international cooking styles. You'll have plenty of choice, regardless of what you're craving! Among the starters is a fine salad of grilled salmon on mixed greens, Thai style calamari with lemongrass and garlic, and Savoyard fondue (along with chicken wings and nachos). Main courses follow the global lead: Szechwan beef, seafood linguine, pfeffer schnitzel, or pan-seared duck breast with caramelized garlic and blueberry-port reduction.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Yes, sushi is hip these days, which may be a plus or a minus in your book, depending on the kind of dinging experience you prefer. If you like to savor your sushi in relative peace, then Sachi is the place to go. Having worked with Sushi Village for years, the owners have the experience to be successful, but present a much more relaxing ambience with this endeavor. Needless to say, fish and seafood are of the highest caliber, preparation is exacting and presentation is attractive.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. The setting may leave something to be desired, but for fish this good you can overlook that. Sushi is the specialty, but non-fans can relax because there's a wide selection of other options, from tempura veggies to teriyaki beef. Vegetarians will be pleased as well.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. Most of the restaurants in Whistler specialize in Canadian, American or European fare – most of it is wonderful, but you may find yourself yearning for something with a little more kick. That's when it's time to head over to Tandoori Grill. Start with onion bhaji, a pakoras or vegetable samosas, and enjoy something from the list of imported beers and wines. Selecting a main course may prove difficult – yogurt and spice marinated tandoori meats are always moist, flavorful and tender, but there are plenty of alternatives. Chicken and vegetarian dishes shine, and there are both spicy hot and mellow options. Part of the small Vancouver chain of the same name.

WHISTLER VILLAGE. A local favorite that features Thai food in all its colorful piquancy! Not every dish is spicy hot, but everything is highly flavored with some or all of the traditional Thai herbs and spices: cilantro, lemongrass, chilies, ginger, kaffir lime leaves, coconut and peanuts. The menu offers not the usual one, but five different pad thais, plus a variety of red, green and yellow curries, most of which are available as chicken, fish, beef, seafood or vegetarian dishes.

CREEKSIDE. The Creekside area is growing by leaps and bounds, and will undoubtedly continue to in the lead-up to the 2010 Winter Olympics. Zen Sushi's original location in Vancouver has been quite successful over the years, so it should come as no surprise that the formula works so well in Whistler. The restaurant's sleek, clean lines perfectly complement the food. Sushi and sashimi are certainly the specialty, but tempura and robata-grilled meats, seafood and vegetables are wonderful as well.
