Exhibits and displays feature artifacts from Wichita's earliest African-American settlers, as well as those citizens who made later contributions in the fields of medicine, education, government, the military, sports and entertainment. Located in an early 20th century historic church, the museum also features traditional and contemporary works created by African and African-American artists. A scholarly library houses a collection of books by African-American authors and about the black experience.
