8. Wichita Theater & Opera House

WICHITA FALLS.   Conceived on a winter night in 1908, the elegant, Neoclassical Revival Wichita Opera House opened to no small amount of fanfare and has been at the center of the local entertainment scene ever since. Indeed, the Opera House has been a venue for a broad range of occasions: boxing matches, acrobatic exhibitions, symphonic performances, rock concerts, vaudevilles, dramas, and even silent movies and talkies. Fortunately, the town's renewed interest in its downtown saved the historic venue from the wrecking ball. Today, it once again hosts terrific live shows that are appropriate for all ages, including the ever-popular Texas Gold Country Music Shows.   (© 10Best)
