Real Vietnamese cuisine is marvelous, and it is real here! Soups are a staple of Vietnamese cooking, and the most traditional is beef and noodle, which is delicious. The steamed dumplings are also wonderful. There are lunch specials that are a great value and a fixed price sampler dinner for six or more that is outstanding in quantity and quality. This restaurant is in the Monticello Shopping Center – a bit off the beaten path, so you will find mostly locals here.

Serving both Northern and Southern Italian cuisine, this restaurant has been a favorite of locals for several years. Located in the Village at Kingsmill, this small place fills up fast with diners who savor the pizzas, pastas and veal dishes. The pizza ovens can be seen from the dining room, and the aromas waft across the tables. The cannolis are made on the premises and are a wonderful end to a meal here. This Italian restaurant has pizzazz beyond its prices.

For a hearty Italian meal, this off-the-beaten-path spot is the place to be! Pizzas rule here, although the other dishes are also excellent. The Caesar salad with smoked oysters is outstanding. Order from the extensive vegetarian menu, or try one of the desserts that are worth the calories. This is a casual place with beer and wine and friendly service. Located in the Colony Square Shopping Center on Jamestown Road.

Cooked or uncooked? That is the question here, and you can pick your answer. Chefs make the food sizzle at your tableside grill, or you can belly up to the sushi bar for some Hurricane rolls and other uncooked delicacies. The service is attentive, and the selection of wines and beers is as extensive as the menu. There are various coupons for this restaurant in some of the local guidebooks. There is also takeout sushi.

Showmen chefs make this a fun place for the whole family. They slice, dice, grill and make other magic with their sharp knives and witty conversation. The house specialty combines beef, chicken and seafood, and most entrees come as a complete meal with soup and salad. There is also a children's menu. The sushi can be ordered as a combination platter or à la carte. There are Japanese and domestic beers as well as a wide range of exotic cocktails. Reservations are suggested.

A little bit of country French tucked into the Village Shops at Kingsmill. Le Yaca is locally known as one of the most creative and best dining establishments in the area. Their French onion soup and leg of lamb are house specialties, and another claim to fame is the Marquis au Chocolat – a rich chocolate truffle cake in vanilla sauce. The food is the real thing, and the atmosphere is as appealing as the menu – elegant but not stuffy.
