COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG. They sell all the expected brand names here, but since 1962 they have also been selling toy soldier and tin collectibles. And it is not just the kids that like this place – big kids seem to be having fun looking at all the new and old toys in the window and in the store. This is a great place to let yourself go and become a kid again – but this time with credit cards!

What has 5 million visitors a year, 8,000 parking places, covers 200 acres and has 32 buildings? The world-famous Williamsburg Pottery Factory is as much an attraction as a shopping area. This place has been in existence since 1938 and has grown way beyond the pottery that is created here – although those are among some of the best items. With the feel of an international bazaar, this place has bargains galore. But be prepared to walk and be overwhelmed.
Our shopping categories guide you to the best places to find souvenirs and mementoes of a perfect trip. Where do you find a book on local history? How about a recording of that terrific zydeco band you heard? Maybe a trinket for the kids or spouse? Use our lists to narrow your search.
