COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG.   If you need a break from Colonial attractions or shopping, the Cheese Shop in Merchants Square is the perfect place. Their sandwiches make great meals, and along with the fresh salads and daily quiches, they form an extensive menu. The desserts are outstanding, but if you have a sandwich, you may have to get the dessert to go – the sandwiches are super-sized. Wildly popular with locals and tourists alike, this gourmet deli offers fresh, tasty salads and sandwiches. There are a few tables inside and some out front, but you can also take your lunch out and stage an impromptu picnic on one of the wide, grassy lawns in Colonial Williamsburg. Great Food!! Beware that during busy season there will be quite a line and scarce seating, but is usually worth the wait.

We stopped by this quiant little shop during our stay in Williamsburg. The offerings ranged from gourmet cheeses/soups/salads/sandwiches to plain (depending on your preference and order). The staff were courteous and helpful (despite the fact that it was lunch time and quite busy). I would urge anyone to stop by and check out their offerings. I know I plan on returning any time I am in the area of Williamsburg!

Absolutely great and quite an experience. Great desserts too. Looking forward to our next trip to Williamsburg an absolute must on our places to eat.
