LITTLE ITALY. The Big Easy found a little corner of its own in Little Italy with the Blue Parrot. The mural-painted building depicting a French Quarter scene hosts a party scene of its own. The Parrot offers Creole crawfish, po'boys and New Orleans fare, a "Voodoo Bar" and the best of rockabilly and blues. Live bands play Tuesday - Saturday and at Sunday brunch. It's Mardi Gras every week. On the Bar Loop, some "loopsters" start and stay here. Check website for band schedule, special drink menus, photos and events.

TROLLEY SQUARE. Catherine Rooney's Irish Pub and Restaurant is a neighborhood establishment in the heart of the Trolley Square. Daytime it attracts the business lunch crowd and serves traditional Irish and American fare. With decor of brick walls, Irish flags and and all things soccer and rugby, it is a great place to soak up some Irish heritage along with a Guinness. During happy hour, the pub gets busy 4-7pm, and drink specials are offered 5pm to close. Young professionals keep the energy high. DJs and Karaoke nights are weeknights, live Irish bands Saturday nights after 9pm keep the crowds dancing. Catherine's sports bar cousin, C.R. Hooligans, is next door; both are Trolley Square favorites.

RIVERFRONT. The name may have changed, but this patio remains a popular place for drinks and entertainment on the Riverfront. CW Harborside offers tapas, raw bar or full menu. A 50-seat bar has plenty of room for groups and gatherings. Live music is scheduled Thursdays and Saturdays, and DJs play Fridays. Canopies, dramatic lighting and all new furniture create a "Miami" feel. The comfortable setting with views of the water has plenty of room to gather, dance or relax. Some events may have a cover charge.

NEWARK. The cornerstone of the Newark Main Street and the University of Delaware party scene, Deer Park Tavern is a favorite spot to celebrate a 21st birthday! The college crowd is big here, but a mixed group comes for the burgers, brew and live music. "Thursday Night Mug Night" kicks off the weekend at UD. Live music plays upstairs. Check the website for bands, drink specials and latest details.

DOWNTOWN. The Grand Opera House is the venue for performances year-round in Downtown. It is said, "It All Happens at The Grand," and it's true! Built in 1871, but restored to its original grandeur with the latest technologies in sound and lighting. With fewer than 1200 seats, the theater offers intimate, live performances by top talent. Home to the Delaware Symphony, Opera Delaware, First State Ballet, Contemporary Stage Company and City Theater Company, the Grand and Baby Grand, a 300-seat venue adjacent, include a diverse schedule of music and entertainment including local and touring bands, music, dance, comedy and December holiday performances. See website for details.

TROLLEY SQUARE. St Patrick's Day headquarters, neighborhood pub, and live music venue – Kelly's Logan House is the traditional corner tavern and gathering place for neighbors and friends in Trolley Square. Kelly's menu offers burgers (veggie, bison or Kobe), pub fare (the nachos are famous), and a full seasonal menu. With a mixed crowd of young professionals and UD grads, Kelly's is often the first place a local will tell you to go for happy hour and live music. The outdoor patio is the place to people watch. When it comes to entertainment, Kelly's has it all: The first floor features acoustic music Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with DJs and dancing on weekends; the second floor rocks the house Fridays and Saturdays with live bands on stage. See website or www.myspace.com/kellysloganhouse for drink specials, band schedule and special events.

TROLLEY SQUARE. Kid's is a great restaurant anytime, but after hours, they push the tables back and the dancing begins. Live entertainment on Wednesdays and Fridays; on Thursdays, a DJ spins 80's dance music for ladies' nights and the place is packed with a 30s+ crowd. The big four-sided bar provides plenty of room for seating, but there is standing room and tables for more.
