This house is where Louis Riel, leader of the Métis, lay in state after his death. The house has been restored to its 1886 appearance, complete with period furnishings. Costumed guides describe life as it would have been for a prominent family in the 1880s. They also relate the story of Riel's life and the circumstances surrounding his execution.
