This museum is housed in the oldest building in Winnipeg and the largest oak log structure in North America. It was built as a convent for the order of Grey Nuns in 1846. The exhibits trace the history of the building – which was the first convent and hospital in Western Canada – as well as the Metis, descendants of marriages between French-Canadian voyageurs and the aboriginal peoples of the region.
