Founded in 1766 by the Moravian Congregation of Pennsylvania, Old Salem Museums and Gardens is one of the best examples of colonial life in the United States. The costumed guides explain the life of these early settlers. Over 90 buildings have been brought back to life for you to experience the historic town of Salem. The site also includes the noteworthy Winkler Bakery, the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA), the Old Salem Children's Museum, the Old Salem Toy Museum, and the Gardens of Salem.
