Set amid a thousand-acre stretch of rolling parkland, this majestic countryside castle is a short drive outside of the city of York. This site, which has been in the Howard family for centuries, gained fame as the setting of several scenes in the famous production of "Brideshead Revisited." Examine the stately architecture, view the antiques and period art, and enjoy the gift shop and lakeside café. There are free guided tours in summer.   (© 10Best)
