St. Williams was originally built in the 15th century for the purpose of housing the fraternity of Minster priests. Later in the English Civil War, this building, which was dedicated to the grandson of William the Conqueror, served double duty for the country as a printing facility for King Charles I and the Royal Mint. Today, it serves as a home to a lovely cafe and functions center, but most of the rooms are no longer open to the public.
