1. York Early Music Festival

The Buzz -- The York Early Music Festival, run by the National Centre for Early Music, is one of the UK's biggest celebrations of early classical music. Guest artists in 2009 include The Tallis Scholars, Stile Antico, All Francesca and The Sixteen, with Evelyn Tubb acting as the master of ceremonies for the International Young Artists Competition, which takes place at the same time. Booking is open from 6 April, and events take place in a variety of historic venues all over York.
