This pub is the only one to give the Old Starre a good debate on which is the oldest in town - it also claims to be haunted. This one, which dates back to at least 1656 when it was a coach inn, pays homage to the woollens industry with its sign and decor. What was once the inn's stable now makes a pleasant beer garden. The menu features pub classics like steak and Guinness pie, and there are numerous draft and bottled beers to choose from. The pub also offers four ensuite rooms if you're looking for a place to stay.
