Years of school trips have not diminished the sense of wonder and joy this place gives to Zagreb's big and little boys and girls. Where else can you find this cornucopia of 19th-century fire engines, old fighter planes, a 1930s diving suit, planetarium AND the opportunity to climb into a WWII Italian submarine? If you book a guided tour (for tours in English book in advance) you can also visit Nikola Tesla's demonstration cabinet with all its thrills and wonders.
