7. Zagreb City Museum

Here in Old Town, all the stories you have read or heard from enthusiastic Zagrebians come together and may finally make sense. This is cleverly done using city models and interactive displays that trace the city's development from earliest days until now. A special part of the exhibition is dedicated to the scenes and circumstances of the mortar shell attack on Zagreb during the war; the contrast between what you see and the sun-basked streets you just walked through is almost surreal.
