2. AndautoniaArcheological Park Andautonia, Ščitarjevo

|
Free annual events during the last week of April kick start a series of tours and workshops on this site of the ancient Roman settlement of Andautonia which dates to the 2nd - 4th centuries AD. Excavations started in 1981 and took place pretty much in the middle of otherwise perfectly ordinary village of Ščitarjevo, just 12 km SW from Zagreb. Since then, the years of restoration and conservation have opened to the public a Roman street, bathhouse and a couple of houses. There are workshops for children and adults, Roman food and wine sampling and even dressing up! Please book in advance for guided tours.
