This unmissable landmark (especially if you arrive by train, for it, along with King Tomislav and his horse, dominates Tomislav Square) should be inspected not only for contemporary art exhibitions, but also for its remarkable glass-domed interior and for its history. The building debuted in 1896 at the international exhibition in Budapest where it was originally constructed. The iron frame work was then transported to Zagreb where it was reconstructed in its current form. For a spot of fine international cuisine, or just a coffee with a tranquil view of the park, head for its restaurant and terrace. Free admission on Mondays.
