8. Zvjezdarnica (Observatory)

When the Observatory opened in 1903, such was the importance of this event that one August Kopff named newly discovered planetoid number 589 "Croatia" in its honour. Besides its important scientific work, it has also worked tirelessly on the popularization of astronomic science; most of Zagreb's peoples, big and small, have wandered in at one time or the other in their lives.
