2. Gradska kavana

Opened in 1925, Gradska kavana on the main square is a symbol of the old Mitteleuropa Zagreb. Three floors of Carrara marble, granite, impressive mirrors, art-deco chairs, and more marble make for an ego-boosting experience. Even the demeanour of its staff – very competent, but rather aloof – suggests this place is a few notches above all others, even if just for its grand piano on the first floor.   (© 10Best)
