A delectable addition to Zagreb's culinary scene, Yaxx is owned by celebrated handball goal-keeper Vlado ?ola and consequently frequented by well-known local sports people. Yaxx's chef cleverly combines rustic Istrian cuisine with modern European, gives it a twist and a shake, and then brings it all up a notch. This is executed using the freshest quality ingredients, which is especially notable in a selection of outstanding olive oils (also available for purchase) and salads, something of a rarity up to now. Situated in a somewhat inconspicuous part of the Lower Town, this restaurant and sports bar is a good place to get off the beaten track. The location is handy if you are staying anywhere near the main train station. Live Jazz band plays on Friday and Saturday night.   (© 10Best)
