Just 55km from Zagreb, eco-farm Grešna gorica has it all: glorious outdoor setting with a dream-like view to the 15th century castle, ancient forest, grazing mouflon, skipping deer, hearty food and a legend of forbidden love to top it all. Sit under an apple tree and your host Damir Podbin will tell you all about it while you muse over the selection of homemade cheese, zaseka (bacon pate), sumptuous meats and traditional homemade pasta mlinci. It is hard to get it wrong – all food is local, seasonal and hand-prepared, and each season brings its own riches to the table.
