4. Pri staroj vuri (At the Old Clock - the Grand Dame of Samobor)

One of Samobor's most cherished establishments, situated in a 19th-century villa with an English garden, right in the centre of town. It is as traditional as they come, and you may be inclined to think that time has stood still, based on the namesake old clocks lining the walls. Owner Nikola Zore's quest to preserve heritage 'prigorje' cuisine culminates in a one-week extravaganza that celebrates recipes by Canon Birling from his famed 1812 recipe collection.
