7. Gostionica Tip-Top (Blato)

Tip-Top, or Blato as it was then known, has a pedigree that precedes its culinary reputation, for this was the seat of impromptu literary evenings, speeches and erudite arguments (filled with music and wine) by flamboyant artists, poets and beatniks. Its most famous patron, existentialist poet laureate Tin Ujevi?, has never truly left, his fedora-adorned profile gazing at you from the window glass. Clearly not a case of style over substance, the selection of typical Dalmatian dishes is prepared and served with the old-school care and dedication that transcends its humble appearance.
