A wide-ranging selection of traditional Japanese favorites such as shabu-shabu, sashimi, kaiseki ryori, robata yaki, sukiyaki, and tempura will keep each diner happy, even if it takes a while to decide on an item from the extensive menu. The sushi bar is second-to-none. There's also charming garden dining in the summer.

Sala of Tokyo was highly recommended to us and has had rave reviews. I can't honestly agree with most reviews: when we went there we found the service unfriendly, we were placed at a small table 30 cms away from the next table. The food was good but the portions very small and very pricy. We were charged separately for the pickled ginger, the atmosphere was unfriendly tending to downright cold and to top it all we had to practically beg to get our change back after paying. We generally tip generously however we did not feel like tipping after the waiter had "assumed" that we did not want any change back. All in all I would not go back there. Your mileage may vary of course and maybe we were unlucky or the waiters found us unsympathetic or it was one of those days or.. well it didn't do it for us. Found much better value for money Sushi/Sashimi-wise in Zürich.

If you are in Zurich for any reason, eat at this restaurant as often as possible. A simple few block walk from the train station. It is the the most amazing Japanese food. Truly world class of the highest quality. Best ever, once in a lifetime type experience. Bring the $$$$ but it's worth it.
