Going out to eat isn't always about cravings. Often enough, mealtimes dictate our choices, limiting restaurant possibilities. When circumstances narrow the options, let 10Best help. We'll direct you to the best Breakfast/Brunch restaurants in Birmingham and save you the hassle of calling around for business hours. 10Best readers find much to enjoy at Bogue's thanks to its all-around good offerings. It's also hard to beat Silvertron Cafe, which serves just what you're looking for when you're in the market for a great Breakfast/Brunch.

6 Bogue's
It may look and feel the part, but there's something about Bogue's that makes it far superior to your average diner. A part of the local feed scene since before WWII (despite changing hands a few times), Bogue's continues to be popular for both breakfast and lunch, no doubt a testament to their consistently good homecooking. After one taste of their homemade biscuits, chances are you'll be a devotee as well! Lunch features meat-n-three plates. (205-254-9780)

5 Continental Bakery

4 Demetri's Bar-B-Q
Demetri's opens early for breakfast (hey, the folks who are up at 6am need their hotcakes, french toast, and hashbrown poatoes just like the rest of us!), but it's the lunch and dinner fare that makes this rustic road-sider really stand out. A Disbeliever? Try their BBQ pork plate, spareribs, or turkey breast with a down-home side or two, and some sweet tea (can't forget that!). You'll be a convert in no time flat! (205-871-1581)

3 Ranch House Family Restaurant
The Ranch House may be unassuming when it comes to decor and atmosphere, but it stands tall and proud when it comes to "fixin' breakfast." That's when patrons don't mind queuing up for a table. If you do have to wait, don't sweat it: turnover's quick and there're a lot of tables. Besides, the last time most of us had home-style morning eats this good, it was cooked up in Mom's kitchen! 2 Silvertron Cafe
Not far from downtown on Clairmont Avenue, Silvertron Café has been a Forest Park fav for several years, thanks in large part to the awesome Sunday brunch. For starters, there are the from-scratch mimosas and Bloody Marys, both sure to kick off things in the right direction. The fare is limited to a handful of solid choices, headlined by Grillades & Eggs (steak with cajun hollandaise, scrambled eggs, and cheese grits) and Huevos Rancheros with black beans and homemade corn bread. 1 Chez LuLu
A bit of romantic Europe in the middle of Alabama! Chez LuLu serves gourmet pizzas, sandwiches, and salads along with sinful dessert selections like crustless cheesecake, bread pudding du jour and seasonal pies. The decor pairs mismatched tables and place settings with some very interesting artwork. Open later on weekends. Be sure to stop in on Sunday to "brunch" on homemade crepes, white cheddar biscuits, and Lulu's sinful roasted garlic cheddar grits. (205-870-7011)
