Buenos Aires is the indisputable pride of South America: a cosmopolitan capital teeming with art and life. At first glance you’ll see a city of imposing European-style architecture, wide avenues, green spaces, and numerous monuments and museums in which to gleefully lose yourself and take stunning photos – a city of Italian and Spanish descendants with a hint of Latin flavor. But if you scratch below the surface, Buenos Aires’ arts scene is unrivalled – from the major commercial productions to the flourishing alternative happenings. Here everyone seems to go to the theatre on a regular basis and your taxi driver is more than likely also a part-time actor, writer, painter or dancer. Art is everywhere in Buenos Aires, so there’s always plenty to see and do!
