The restaurant – the brainchild of local restaurant guru Sam Fox – has a bright and appealing interior that's designed to look like a hippy-chic farmhouse. There's an open kitchen; large, sunny windows; lots of original artwork; and fresh flowers on the tables.
The Scottsdale location also includes a sprawling outdoor patio for a leisurely lunch or dinner. There's also a convenient to-go waiting area for diners picking up a quick lunch or dinner, and a grab-and-go fridge that's stocked with healthy juices and other drinks.
From the menu, guests can choose from salads, rice bowls, whole grain wraps and soups. There's also a large selection of vegetable and grain sides and tasty starters like the popular avocado hummus, which is made with sweet corn, radish, clementine oranges and pumpkin seeds.
One popular dish is The Granola salad, made with pomegranate, Fuji apple slices, clementine, sprouted almond, fennel, gorgonzola and organic greens, then drizzled with a chia seed vinaigrette.
If you like your salads with a spicy kick, try the Thai Buckwheat Noodle salad, which features roasted mushrooms, daikon radish, avocado, mint, cashews, Thai basil and spicy sesame mixed with nutty buckwheat noodles.
For a hearty lunch, try the Flying Avocado wrap, a whole wheat flax and chia wrap stuffed with grilled chicken, smoked gouda, romaine, tomato and the house avocado hummus.
Diners can also add chicken, sustainable salmon, organic tofu and grass-fed steak to any dish for added protein.
Flower Child is well-known for its menu of fresh specialty drinks, including a selection of seasonal fresh-squeezed lemonades. Other drinks include gourmet iced and hot teas, fresh juices, Kombucha drinks and a small selection of local beers and organic red and white wines.
For families, Flower Child offers a Healthy Kids menu that includes gluten-free mac and cheese, organic smashed potatoes, roasted veggies and seasonal fruit.
For dessert, check out the tempting selection of fresh-baked goodies.
