Other Recommended Restaurants: Regarded as one of Greater L.A.'s finest steakhouses, Taylor's has been an institution since 1953. This restaurant seems to have slipped past Father Time, as classic leather booths, dark paneling, and soft lighting no doubt suggest. Kick off your dining experience with grilled prawns, Alaskan bay shrimp cocktail, or grilled garlic toast. Featured entrees include prime rib with creamed horseradish, Taylor's special London broil, pan-fried country steak, broiled northern halibut filet, and the "famous" 10-ounce Culotte cut. Be sure to peruse the wine list for their reserve labels, including a 1997 Beringer "Alluvium" Red and 1989 Chappellet "Signature" Cabernet. Reservations are strongly suggested.
